If you stop and think for a second about how powerful reading can be, you might notice a few pointers. For starters, reading is like a window into your imagination. One of the many beauties to reading is that whenever you read a book you are going to imagine it differently than someone else might have imagined it. Take a book that has been made into a movie, for example. The movie is a representation from what the director might have imagined; therefore, when most people read books and then watch the movie, they don't like it because it is not exactly how they imagined it. Of course there are other reasons why people don't like books that have been made into movie, but that is one reason why. Although that is why I love movies because I find it interesting to see how other people might have imagined it. Next time you see a movie and you've read the book try think of it being the imagination of someone else, you'll realize how interesting their perspective can be. The reason I bring this up is because recently I have been starting to read more often in order to help me focus more. A problem I face a lot is not being able to completely focus myself in one of the many things I am trying to do at a moment in time. Therefore I have been challenge myself to read through periods of total focus, seemingly progress has been shown. In just over a week and a half I have finished Paper Towns. A thrilling romance mystery by John Green. This summer his book will be made into a movie and since I have just finished the book I saw the trailer. I depicted the differences of how I imagined the characters to be and the settings to look like immediately. However I am still super excited for the movie to come out. My favorite part from the book was the way John Green involved gave such interesting views to his characters, especially Margo's perspective on life itself and how her town was like a paper town. Also her idea of believing that we currently live in the future, that we base our lives on a plan of the future: going to school, then going to college, getting married, having kids, and finally sooner or later dying. This was all so interesting and is what kept me hooked, reading more than 50 pages in an hour. Moreover, I am excited to find my following book to read, but I hope it is as impacting as Paper Towns.
