Right now in the Innovation Academy, we are starting the process of looking at different topics that we could pursue based on the economy of Peru. So in order to find out information, besides researching on the computer, we decided to go around the school and interview teachers or students who were free. Whenever I walked up to someone whom I wanted to ask question about Peru's economy I began by saying, "Would you mind if I could ask you a few questions based on Peru's economy?" If they did not know me I quickly introduced myself before asking the question. Once we all finished collecting data from our interviewees we shared them as a class and began to generate new topics for our documentaries. However, it was surprising to see who new the most about the economy of Peru and what was going on with it. Those people tended to be the ones most effected by it.

To begin the day, we took a stroll down memory lane. Looking back at a couple investments that we have made (as the Innovation Academy) in the past. However, we focused mainly on one stock. One stock which has recently boomed after having been said to be a bearish stock. What is a Bearish stock? What is Bullish? One our stocks, first solar, boomed up to 20%! After being said to be a bearish stock by goldman sachs, supposedly first solar was going to be the bullish stock. Now lets look at what caused this dramatic increase. http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000258918 After watching the Inside Job, I feel aware but also frustrated because of all the monstrosities that happened behind the curtain. Ignorance might be bliss but I would rather be more know of what is happening in the government and the economy. Especially from what happened in the US in 2008. The US government and economists have created a game in which they win but screw everyone else in. The most corrupt part of all is that they make up and edit the rules, so nothing is in your favor. Why? Because they are the ones with power and money, which supposedly is makes the biggest lie in society today. It shouldn’t be about greed through power and money. It should be about making the world a better place. To solve that we need people who create dreams and not people who create nightmares. All this comes down to a lack of empathy and honesty, where the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer.
What we talked about today in class: What struck me the most about everything we learned today in class, about Econ and government is how a lot of opinions revolve around two different perspectives: A liberal perspective and a conservative perspective. Explore from the numerous amounts of colleges and find your best fit! I believe this is mine... During class today,we had to brainstorm on what ideas could possibly lead to being our idea for an Independent Project for later this semester. This prezi is a basic concept to my Idea, for an Independent Project. Take a look! |
